Important: Artwork Preparation
Remember that your art will be displayed at a professional art exhibit; therefore presentation and preparation is important.
2D art and Photography pieces must meet the requirements for the Orinda Library Gallery’s hanging system. All art must have a wire spanning the entire width of the back side of frame. Please have all frames with wire installed and ready for hanging before the art is brought to the library. Any artwork not properly framed and wired for installation will not be accepted. For further instructions on how to set up your frame, please contact VAC@orindaartscouncil.org.
Artwork Release of Liability
The Orinda Arts Council is proud of our stewardship of the students' artwork and quite strict in documenting the receipt and return of the numerous pieces of artwork processed by our all-volunteer staff. Video surveillance, funded in part by the OAC, is installed at the Orinda Library Art Gallery to insure the security of your artwork. However, the OAC and City of Orinda do require that you agree to a release of liability during the online registration process.
Eligibility and Rules
All high school students living in or attending school in Moraga, Orinda, or Lafayette are invited to participate. Students may submit only one art piece per category, but may enter more than one category.
Artwork must be created while the student attends high school (9-12 grade). During the registration process, you will be asked to list teacher’s name for artwork that was created in class during school. Artwork that was created outside of school may submitted as long as the work was done while attending high school.
