Orinda Arts Council Unveils BirdHaus Public Art Event
More than 65 Bay Area Artists, Architects and Designers Create Birdhouses for Fun and Funds
 
July 2006 (Orinda, CA) — The Orinda Arts Council has unveiled BirdHaus, it's summer 2006 art installation of original birdhouses created by artists, architects and designers. The sixty-five upside down, single- and multi-unit, floating, hanging, and free-standing homes for birds will be on display throughout Orinda, CA, during July and August. On September 1st the complete collection of birdhouses will be located at the Orinda Community Center and Library for a final showing before auction at the September 9th Orinda Arts Council BirdHaus benefit gala. Proceeds from the silent and live benefit auction will support arts enrichment programs in local schools, community arts programs and Mt. Diablo Habitat for Humanity. Silent bidding begins August 1st at the Orinda Library, 24 Orinda Way. (more)
